I have always been a storyteller, organiser and energetic explorer of life. Writing endless stories and poems since I was a child and reading everything I could get my hands on, I realised that my favourite stories were the real life ones!

With a Bachelor of Psychology from James Cook University, I have worked for over 10 years in the mental health industry, and I still do to this day! I adore my work and part of what drew me to Psychology in the first place is my deep love, respect and genuine curiosity for human beings and their stories.  While I don't offer any psychological services as part of my work as a Celebrant, I believe my background provides a space to use my decade of experience in human stories in a new, creative and beautiful way. Also, when I say nothing rattles me, I really mean it - your girl is unshakeable. Big, raw feelings, tears, romance, joy, unimaginable grief, once-in-a-lifetime-love and loss. Please, come as you are.

Along the way, I met my husband and we were married in 2017 in a beautiful ceremony under the fig trees in Anzac Park. We welcomed three beautiful children into our little team, as well as numerous chickens and dogs. I then decided I wanted to add MORE busyness to my life (if you want something done, ask a busy person, right?) and I thought about all the things I love to do - creative writing, public speaking, meeting new people, learning new things and having adventures! Becoming a part-time celebrant just made sense - it's all the things I have loved to do my whole life.

In 2022 I completed my Certificate IV in Celebrancy through Rose Training and I was granted acceptance and registration as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant in early 2023 by the Attorney-General's Department.

Courtney Zagami Celebrations is an exciting new chapter in the story of my life, and I hope it will be a part of yours! I can't wait to share the joys, sorrows, challenges and adventures of the most exquisite, memorable moments of your life with you, because all people, and all moments, are worthy of celebration.
